Who we are

Open Door Psychology is the joint practice of Dr Olivia Mohtady and Dr Jake Maxwell Watts. We are both counselling psychologists, with the highest level of academic qualifications and experience in a range of different therapeutic approaches. We believe in responsible, evidence-based therapy, and in creating a warm and non-judgemental space for people to focus on what matters most to them.

Olivia offers a warm and supportive therapeutic presence. She values getting to the heart of what’s happening. She has experience practising in the NHS, charities, universities and occupational health teams and has supported individuals with difficulties including relationship breakdowns, bereavements, trauma/PTSD, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety, and panic attacks.

Jake is hugely compassionate in his work, and always sees the potential in people. His approach is clear, practical, and infused with curiosity and care. He has worked in various NHS services and in occupational health, and supported individuals with difficulties including anxiety, low mood, trauma/PTSD, relationship difficulties, bipolar, psychosis, self-compassion, and relationship breakdowns.
